As we head into the end of 2019, our team have been working on some fantastic enhancements to make your life easier and faster to do the things you need to so you can get on with doing the things you love. These are features and enhancements requested directly from our user community and we hope you love them as much as we do. As always, feature requests can be sent to support@obzervr.com and we add these to our To-Do bucket. To the user community that contributed to this build we love and appreciate your insight and knowledge. Keep it coming!
For Supervisor and Managers, we have updates to help you Manage by Exception. Read more in What’s New for Manager?
For field teams we have greater app usability and team work capabilities. Read about these in What’s New for Capture?
Enjoy!
What’s New for Manager v1.36?
-
For teams with integration to Enterprise Systems like SAP and Pronto, you are now able to see the Work Order Number (basically) everywhere! We’ve added it to the most important locations in Manager so that you can quickly identify the work order.
-
Exceptions! We want you to manage by exception, so we have added flags to highlight high, medium or low priority exceptions. The Exceptions feature is an enhancement on our early Alerts feature. Exceptions will send emails and SMS like Alerts, but it’s smarter and better. You can now also Resolve Exceptions to ensure only outstanding work is front and centre. See Configuring, Managing and Resolving Exceptions to help you get the most out of this new feature.
What’s New for Capture v1.26?
There are a plethora (heaps and heaps) of new features in Capture this month! We’ve given it a new skin (as all good Fortnite gamers will appreciate) and added the following cool features:
-
User switching means that you don’t have to log out and log back in when you give your device to another person. Pfew! It will save you time if you work in a team where everyone has a login. Use the top left burger menu to access User Switching, then add users as required. Users can pin in once they are logged into the app.
- Priority Groups to highlight which Groups are important for completing your work. Nice!
-
Preliminary Groups are ‘fill this in first’ Prerequisite sections which stop you from proceeding with your work until you complete that section! Examples are compiling a Take-5 before starting your main job. Yes! to Safety First.
-
Optional Groups are the opposite to Preliminary Groups - you might not need to complete them to finish your work, but you might need them in some scenarios. We let you decide. We aim to ensure your teams can work in highly volatile and flexible environments and this feature delivers just that.
-
Mandatory Fields are pretty self-explanatory. You must fill these in before you can mark the work as complete. Again, this could be a Take-5 or Pre-start safety check or even Timesheets to ensure we get paid (would I really forget that?).
-
Image Editor! We’ve added the ability to annotate, draw and add text to images you capture in the app. Wow, this is a personal favourite. You can now take pictures of a faulty machine and circle the problem area.
-
Skip a field if the measure is for an offline machine. Skipping the field will contribute to the percentage completion so that you don’t feel like you’ve missed a measure. We are adding a dropdown reason code to the skip field for reporting and KPI measurement, but that's coming soon in a future release.
- User Avatars. Being able to work with your team on an activity means that you need to know who captured what and also to easily identify who is working with you. An Avatar is the coloured circle with the user’s initials in the centre. These avatars are visible wherever a user’s association with work or a field needs to be known.
-
Share and see work between you and your team members with Team Work Sharing. You can allocate more than one field crew member to a job, and assign a team member to a job when you go off shift. Your work will not be lost and they can pick up where you left off. Supervisors can look across team to sign-off hazard reports, reallocate work in the case of breakdowns, and generally manage teams directly from the app.
-
Love those shortcuts! Click the user avatar to open the More Options menu. Swipe to Put On Hold, Assign to another user or quickly Reschedule some work. Being able to assign work to another user on the device is an awesome improvement which will make it a lot easier to share work.
