Obzervr is back this month with another version of the Capture app - v1.42.33. This version is now in the store.
With the Capture v1.42.33 release, we have introduced some cool new features and minor fixes. These go hand in hand with several changes in Manager and Designer.
In these Release Notes, we will walk you through the following new features and improvements:
- Skipping for Mandatory Fields
- Optimisation of Team Mapping Sync and Location lists
- New COC PDF for SGS Laboratory
- Notice of Deprecation
- Resolution of Issues
- Known Issues
Skipping for Mandatory Fields
Previous versions of Obzervr Capture introduced the ability to set all the fields for a team to be marked as Mandatory Fields. The purpose of setting mandatory fields for a team was to quickly allow administrators to set statutory or compliance work to be mandatory, rather than individually defining all the fields as Mandatory through our Work Designer. This quick toggle option affords an easier way to broadly ensure that all the fields that a certain team completes require data to be captured.
To learn more about Mandatory Fields for Teams, read about it here.
The second part of this initiative is to allow skipping on the mandatory fields, but only when a Comment is entered.
Now, when the 'Enable Skipping' toggles are switched on in Tenant Settings, the Skipping options will be enabled on Capture.
This will require users to input a comment where a mandatory field has been Skipped. Otherwise, the field will be marked as mandatory, and a user will not be able to complete their Work.
A part of this change also included removing the Section Skipping and Empty Completion Circle, as seen below.
Left: Capture v1.42.28 skipping behaviour; Right: Capture v1.42.29 skipping behaviour
Note that whilst it appears that the 'Skip' option has disappeared from below the field, it has not been completely removed. The option still exists; however you will need to click the three dots to see the overflow menu at the bottom of the screen.
You will no longer be able to skip Sections.
Throughout the implementation of this change, the following Issues were resolved which were related to this:
- Resolves an issue where mandatory fields require comments incorrectly.
- Resolves an issue on iOS where a field with a disabled skip field was not showing as disabled.
- Resolves an issue when the Mandatory Comment notification from Skipping should disappear when the field value is captured.
- Resolves an issue when the 'skipped' label is intermittently not showing when skipping fields.
- Resolves an issue where the Group mandatory field count isn't updated after adding to Mandatory Field listing.
- Resolves an issue where the {Assignment} mandatory field count isn't updated after team removed from Mandatory Fields list.
-
Resolves an issue where entering a value into a Table Field would be recorded as ‘skipped’ instead of captured.
- Mandatory fields were not updated on the Table of Contents view.
New Starts with filter for the Location list
To improve the experience for customers who have large amounts of locations, we have enhanced the loading times for Location lists. This was a two-pronged approach: improving queries in the background but also introducing a new option to toggle between using a 'Contains' or faster 'Starts with' search.
New COC PDF for SGS laboratory
As part of our continuing improvement of our Laboratories feature, we have added a new COC PDF option to Manager. We now integrate with SGS Laboratory for all your sampling requirements.
There were the following changes required to facilitate this in Obzervr Capture:
- Introduce a new HTML template for the Chain of Custody with SGS Lab Integration and add the 'Analysis Required' field to Capture.
- Resolves an issue when the tick box to select Test Plan when creating COC cannot be seen on light mode.
- Resolves an issue that the Capture app on Android devices hang on a blank page after relinquishing the COC with multiple labs.
Notice of Deprecation
One of the changes made to Capture as a part of this release was to remove Assignment Types, Equipment, QA/QC Samples, and Task Lists. This means it will no longer be possible to use the feature in Manager and then see it on Capture.
All customers have been updated to Work Templates where required, so this change should have minimal impact.
Resolution of Issues
Capture v1.42.33 resolves the following issues:
- Resolves an issue where the Android app would fail to load the federated login page if there was no SSL certificate.
- Resolves an issue where the category is too long, and it breaks the display on the Navigation bar.
- Resolves an issue where, if the Tag was defined IsVisible equals true, it would not show in the {assignment} overview on Obzervr Capture.
- Resolves an issue where entering a Required Date Exceeded Reason would not be handled correctly.
- Resolves an issue where old versions of a work template would show on the list in Capture.
- Resolves some issues with loading Work templates in the {Assignment} and {Trip} pages of the app.
- Resolves an issue where conditional logic was not working as expected.
- Resolves an issue where Time and Date fields do not update immediately when conditional logic is used.
- Resolves an issue where you cannot click to expand a read only notes field.
Known Issues
- The issue with the Capture app on Windows where it intermittently doesn't capture the input and save it.
Workaround: closing and re-opening the app will "reset" the app. This happens very intermittently when you have the Capture app opened for a long time. - Switching to a new tenant, which you haven't been logged in before, while offline will not work, which means it will not allow you to get into the new tenant.
Workaround: ensure that you have internet connection when switching to a new tenant. - There is an issue with the Capture app on Windows where you cannot click to expand a read only notes field. Workaround: use the Capture app on an Android or iOS device.
