Obzervr wants to get you the important information when you need it the most. SMS and email Alerts are one of the ways we facilitate this ability.
Alerts (or also known as Exception) were built to notify users if a field measure is out of range. For example, if the bearing temperature on a crusher is outside of the normal temperature range from 30 to 65C, then it needs to be escalated and actioned immediately.
Alert will be triggered when your team members input the data that has the exception, and, as a manager, you will get Alert Notification via SMS or Email or both.
Before you get started, you will need to check that:
- A User has been created in Obzervr with a valid email address and international phone number defined.
- Your User is the Supervisor in the team and/or associated with the particular Work
- Upper and Lower Boundary Conditions and/or Exceptions are defined for a Field Measurement.
How to set up your Exception
Our Obzervr Team will set up the Exception Notification for our clients. Note that you need to notify Obzervr when you change the Supervisors.
What triggers the Exception?
Alert will be triggered when your team members input the data that has the exception, and, as a manager, you will get Alert Notification via SMS or Email or both.
Exceptions created on Work Designer for the following field types:
- Numeric Value
- Numeric Range
- Set Value
- Dropdown
- Checkbox

Exceptions can be classified into 3 priorities: High, medium and low. Users can be notified about exception fields in 3 different ways. Check this article for detail information.
Note:
- Work and Instance completion notifications are only sent when they contain High priority notifications.
- If a user is assigned as a supervisor for multiple teams, they will get separate notifications for each team.
Now, when a Work is Completed with an out of range Field Measurement that has an Alert, either an SMS or email will be sent to the User.
