How to edit a Sample Reference Number on Obzervr Capture

Need to edit the Sample Reference Number for the Sample or the Containers? Here’s how:

How to edit the Sample Reference Number for a Sample

1. Open Obzervr Capture.
2. Navigate and open the Assignment.
3. Select Sampling. The list of Sample Reference Numbers will show.
4. Click the progress circle of the incorrect Sample Reference Number and select Edit.
5. Modify the Sample Reference Number as required.
6. Click the tick to save the new Sample Reference Number.

You have edited the Sample Reference Number!

Not quite what you’re looking for? If you need to split containers from one Sample Reference Number into multiple Sample Reference Numbers, you don’t need to delete the containers and start again.  If you edit the Sample Reference Number for a Container, it will edit the Container as required.

How to edit the Sample Reference Number for a Container

1. Open Obzervr Capture.
2. Navigate and open the Assignment.
3. Select Sampling. The list of Sample Reference Numbers will show.
4. Select the Sample Reference Number to open the Containers page.
5. Click the flask container icon and select Edit.
6. Modify the Sample Reference Number as required.
7. Click the tick to save the new Sample Reference Number.

You have edited the Sample Reference Number for a Container!

Try changing the Sample Reference Number for one Container – if it’s in a Sample with multiple Containers, then a new Sample Reference Number will be created for the Container.

For example, imagine you have three Containers (red, blue and green) with the Sample Reference Number “M224W”. However, then you realised that the red container was collected at “Daandine-101”. What you will need to do is edit the Sample Reference Number for the Container. This will mean that after you edit the Reference Number for the red Container from “M224W” to “Daandine-101”, the red container will be removed from the “M224W” sample and the new “Daandine-101” sample will be created.

Already completed the Assignment? You will need to mark the Assignment as Not Complete in Obzervr Manager and push the Assignment down to the device to edit the Sample Reference Number.
